The Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold its regularly scheduled, March 7, 2013, meeting in Braintree.

• The Braintree Town Hall is accessible to persons with disabilities. Enter the building from the ramp on the north side of the building (toward Central Avenue).

The MPO is scheduled to hear a presentation from Braintree officials on transportation issues in Braintree and the South Shore Coalition subregion. Members will discuss and take action on a proposed scope of work for an upcoming planning study. There will also be presentations on and discussions of performance-based planning at the MPO and recent evaluations of projects proposed for the region’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

Braintree’s Town Hall is located at 1 J.F.K. Memorial Drive near the intersection of Union Street and Washington Street across from Thayer Public Library.

 

BY CAR

From the North (I-93 N from Boston):

Take I-93 S toward Quincy. Take exit 7 on the left toward Cape Cod / Route 3 South. Take exit 17 for Union St toward Braintree/South Braintree. At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto Union St. Turn left onto Washington St.  Take the 2nd right (very close) onto John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive. (Town Hall is across Washington Street from Thayer Public Library – 798 Washington St.)

 

From the West (I-93 N / Route 1 from Randolph):

Take I-93 N toward Quincy. Take exit 7 toward Cape Cod / Route 3 South. Take exit 17 for Union St toward Braintree/South Braintree. From Route 3 and Points East:

Take exit 17 for Union St toward Braintree/South Braintree. At traffic circle, take 3rd exit onto Union St. Turn left onto Washington St. Take the 2nd right (very close) onto John F. From Holbrook and Points South:

Head North on Washington St / Route 37. Continue straight on Hancock St where Route 37 turns left as Washington St. Continue straight onto Washington St as Hancock St becomes Washington St. Continue 0.2 miles and turn left onto John F. Kennedy Memorial Dr. Destination will be on the left. (Town Hall is across Washington Street from Thayer Public Library – 798 Washington St.)

Car parking is available in the Town Hall parking lot. Bicycle racks are available in front of the building.

            Exit station and follow walkway to Union St

            Walk approximately 2 blocks west on Union St
