609204: BELMONT- COMMUNITY PATH, BELMONT COMPONENT OF THE MCRT (PHASE 1) Shift Funds The Belmont Community Path project currently has an estimated project cost of $48,934,961, funded with $30,000,000 of funds in FFY 2026 and $18,934,961 in FFY 2027. This amendment proposes shifting $5,000,000 of funds from FFY 2027 to 2026 to utilize the majority of the unprogrammed regional target funding balance in that year.

The $18,934,961 programmed in FFY 2027 of the FFYs 2027–31 TIP will be reduced to $13,934,961 via an amendment after that TIP takes effect in FFY 2027.

There is no change in the project cost or scope of work.
CMAQ, STBG, TAP $30,000,000 $35,000,000 $5,000,000
S13146: LEXINGTON- PLANNING OF IMPROVEMENTS TO BEDFORD STREET Scope Change, Source Change This project, previously titled "LEXINGTON- DESIGN OF SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS AT THE INTERSTATE 95 AND ROUTE 4/225 INTERCHANGE", is proposed for a change in scope and project phase.

Coordination between the Town of Lexington, MassDOT, and MPO staff indicates that the project's current development stage is more aligned with planning efforts than that of design for a specific capital project. Therefore, a non-TIP funding source is required to support this work. This amendment proposes flexing $800,000 of STBG funding to Metropolitan PL to be included in a future UPWP. The Town of Lexington will provide $200,000 in matching funds.

The scope of the planning work will review needs and propose potential improvements along the entirety of the Bedford Street corridor in Lexington rather than solely the Route 128 / Route 4/225 Interchange. This effort remains consistent with the broader goals and improvements outlined in the project's inclusion in the Boston Region MPO's Long Range Transportation Plan. The planning study may identify the need for one or more future projects to be initiated along the corridor.
PLM $1,650,000 $1,000,000 -$650,000
